Julian Chams

Julian Chams (b. 1989, Barranquilla, Colombia) is a visual artist currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and is currently a Van Lier Visual Artist Fellow at Wave Hill in the Bronx, NY. Chams has had solo exhibitions at Wave Hill, Bronx, NY; Splatterpool, Brooklyn, NY; ARS Antiqua Galería, Barranquilla, Colombia; and Parallel Gallery, Kansas City, MO. His work has been featured in group shows at, among others, the Bronx Museum of the Arts; XV Salón Regional de Artistas, Zona Caribe, Arte Corrosivo, Cartagena, Colombia; and Alliance Française, Barranquilla, Colombia. He was festival coordinator and editorial assistant for the Video Art & Experimental Film Festival at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City.
