Samara Umbral
"I try to find imagery that makes me yearn, or feel metaphorically homesick which turns into a painstakingly lonely behavior. Burdening the viewer with it's unimaginativeness, the work becomes interesting when you are forced to be intimate with it because of it's scale and effort. At this scale, photorealism becomes photograph-realism or counterfeit which may be interesting in the sense that photographs are a thing of the past or that if it was just a digital photo on the internet it would be skimmed over without thought which is similar to how many people look at art."
Samara was born in 1990 and attended the Kansas City Art Institute.
